Best Steaks in Quezon City: Nanka Japanese Steakhouse
Hey foodies, have you heard about Nanka Japanese Steakhouse in Quezon City? Once a Peruvian-Japanese themed restaurant, Nanka has recently shifted its focus into being a full-fledged premier Japanese Steakhouse in North Manila. All thanks to the innovative direction of its Executive Chef, Chef Michael Santos. And I’m telling you, one taste, and this one will leave you salivating for days! Okay enough with the teasing. Let’s go meat your next culinary favorite, shall we?
Premium Steaks at Nanka
First things first. I know foodies and diners alike have been raving about the exciting marriage of Peruvian-Japanese flavors in the past. So let me apologize to you in advance. Because that’s not what I’ll talk about in this post. What I’d like to highlight today is the very MEAT of this 120-seater restaurant in Quezon City: STEAK! And lots of it!
Known as one of the best steakhouses in Quezon City, Nanka Japanese Steakhouse prides itself in the quality of meat they serve. On one hand, Nanka offers Japanese Wagyu meat imported from Japan. And on the other hand, diners can also delight in Nanka’s Black Onyx Angus Steaks and WX (Wagyu-Angus) meats from Ranger Valley, Australia. Top quality meats that are usually only served in luxury hotels.
Nanka Japanese Steakhouse Complete Meat Selection include: Australian Black Onyx Tomahawk, Black Onyx Angus Steak, Black Onyx Bone-In Ribeye, Black Onyx Tbone, Japanese Wagyu, Wagyu Beef, Us Tenderloin, WX Striploin.
Make No Mis-Steak: The Verdict!
The day we came around, was no ordinary foodie meet up. Because Chef Mike Santos has decided to serve us only the best that Nanka has to offer: Black Onyx Bone-In Rib Eye, Australian Black Onyx Tomahawk, and Black Onyx Angus Steak.
All steaks at Nanka are served on a heated plate with a side of salt, chimichuri, and three kinds of dipping sauce. But honestly, who needs all that when the steak’s natural juice was a complete delight itself? The meats were extra tender, seasoned just right, and literally melts in your mouth. HEAVEN, just PURE HEAVEN!
Obviously, the Rib Eye was my favorite. Because what’s a good steak without some extra fat? It looked so irresistible that Spanky just had to request them to pan-fry the fat a bit. We just flew into Food Heaven and back, I tell you!
More Crowd Favorites at Nanka Japanese Steakhouse
Pink Norwegian Salmon Sashimi
People close to me know that I will never pass up on Salmon Sashimi. But I don’t think I’ve ever eaten anything as vibrantly-colored and succulent as that served by Nanka Japanase Steakhouse.
The freshest and juiciest slices of Salmon air-flown every week. Too bad everyone in the room had the same taste palate as I did. So I was only able to get a few slices. But all the more reason to go back, right?
I also loved the assortment of sushi Nanka serves, especially the Tempura rolls.
Shitake Pasta
Fancy some east-meets-west fusion? Then I’m sure you’ll take delight with Nanka’s Shitake Pasta. A Japanese-inspired pasta served with a sweet-savory sauce then topped with shiitake mushrooms.
The flavor was so interesting that I’m thinking to actually hack it as a regular home meal!
Other crowd pleasers were the Tepanyaki Shrimp (with vegetables), Baked Salmon, and the Roasted Chicken (HTD Fave).
Desserts: Carrot Cake and Sansrival
After devouring a protein-filled fill, Nanka Japanese Steakhouse will definitely let you end your meal on a high note. With their crave-worthy selection of desserts form the restaurant’s own bakeshop. Everything honestly tasted very good. Noteworthy ones were the moist Carrot Cake. As well as the chewy nutty Sansrival.
So the next time you’re craving for some serious meat, make the trip to Nanka Japanese Steakhouse. Parking is plenty and seats 120-130. Now also open for private functions and catering. MEAT YOU THERE!
