Where to Eat in Banawe: Le Reussi
Next to a Binondo Food Trip, an awesome place to do a legit food crawl in Metro Manila is in Banawe. So after indulging in the milky deliciousness in Good Good Philippines Banawe, let me take you to a dessert place that’s not only Instagrammable but IG-taste-worthy as well. Welcome to Le Reussi Banawe! Bon appétit!
What is Le Reussi?
Literally translated as “the successful”, Le Reussi Banawe is a neighborhood cafe offering French-inspired drinks and desserts in Quezon City. The cafe is a family-owned business built by its patriarch who started baking out of passion. But after some sweet urging from relatives, finally decided to turn it into a full-fledge business.
And alas, last January 10 2020, Le Reussi Banawe finally opened its doors to the public. And judging by things, it’s not far that success is in the horizon for this instagrammable dessert place in QC.
Bestsellers at Le Reussi Banawe
Le Reussi Cakes (Mini Php 268 | Whole Php 1,388)
Who doesn’t love cake? They’re fluffy, versatile, and come in a variety of flavors. So what better way to enjoy it than making it both tasty and IG worthy. How? You make mini versions of whole cakes (instead of slices). GENIUS, I call it. And that’s exactly why I took delight in what Le Reussi Banawe offers its diners!
Currently, Le Reussi Banawe offers six (6) equally-appetizing cake flavors. Choose from Mango Cream, Ube, Caramel, Matcha, Mocha and Choco Tablea. Each mini cake from Le Reussi measured about 4-5 inches in diameter and can be shared by two people at least.
I must say I am quite impressed by how each one is intricately decorated, making it obvious that Le Reussi put much heart and passion into their cakes. My personal favorites were the mango cream (ala Conti’s), caramel (ala Estrel’s), and Ube. They were fluffy and sweetened just right. As for the other flavors? They’re okay too but could use more pizzaz to make the individual flavors to pop out.
All cake flavors from Le Reussi Banawe are also available in whole cake versions. And can be ordered at least two (2) days in advance for Php 1,388.00 (8-10 slices). Le Reussi cakes will last upto a week when refrigerated.
Hot Drinks (Php 128.00 up)
Hot drink to pair with your cake? You got it. Complete your dessert with a hot drink of your choice at Le Reussi Banawe. Choose from coffee, hot choco, or tea.
Although, I would personally recommend going for their bestselling rich Hot Chocolate Tablea (Php 168.00).
Cold Drinks (Php 138.00 up)
Hot day outside? Then a cold drink is what you need. Lucky for you, Le Reussi Banawe serves a wide array of tasty iced ones in the cafe. Choose from iced coffee, milky latte drinks, home-brewed sparkling iced tea, and hand-crafted sodas.
Craving for something light to clean your palate? Go for either the sparkling iced teas and sodas. The iced tea had an interesting (but acquired liking) bittersweet taste.
While the sodas were sweet and fuzzy that were light yet refreshing. But if you like your drink with more body and richness, go and indulge in Le Reussi’s latte drinks and iced coffees. The latte drinks tasted like a mix of milkshake and fruit smoothies, which I totally loved! Especially the blueberry, mango, and strawberry.
