Every now and then, when my friends and I go out to eat but can’t decide what type of restaurant or cuisine we want, we all agree to head to the food court. One of my favorite food court is the one that is located at Podium, Corner Market (mostly because of convenience.)
Recently, we broke the cycle and went to The Grid Food Market in PowerPlant mall.
I’m sure you’re all are aware of the recent opening of Shake Shack in the Philippines. I’ve been wanting to go and try to get my hands on their burgers and see what the fuss is all about. Alas, I don’t have time to go to BGC.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a good burger. Couple that with the hype surrounding Shake Shack, Beefier in The Grid Food Market seemed to be the next best alternative.
Beefier
Unofficially called Stall #06 because of the giant number on top of the stall, Beefier gets its name because of its ability to add more meat to its burger (which is a good thing.)
Ms. Eli Uy (Head of Marketing) explained that Beefier is just one of the many brands that the Low Brow Group. Other food ventures you may have heard of are Bad Bird, Fowl Bread, Hole in the Wall, and Wrong Ramen.
Since its opening in March, people come to taste their high quality meat in the form of burgers and steaks.
What We Had
Beefiest
Prime steak cut turned into ground beef with handmade potato buns
This burger is really good, the meat and bun have just the right crunch. For its size, the burger doesn’t go that big to necessitate the use of a knife to cut it in half. The Beefiest burger can fit in your mouth on its own perfectly.
That’s not the best part, because what I love the most is that the bread has a soft buttery texture that complements the whole experience.
It also came with a glass of iced tea and French fries.
Prime Rib
USDA Prime Ribeye, served medium (always) with arugula salad
The prime rib is soft, tender, and its doneness done right. It’s good on its own and does not need a sauce to complete the flavor as the salt will make every bite melt in your mouth.
You can have the following add-ons with your burger:
- Iced Tea or Fries: 60 pesos
- Iced Tea with Fries: 99 pesos
- Bacon: 90 pesos
- Extra beef patty – 150 pesos
They also have the Beefier hamburger (250 pesos) and the Cheesier cheeseburger (Php 290) which is aimed for those who are on a budget but want to try gourmet burgers.
Beefier is a must try for anyone wanting to eat a burger that is competently crafted and with fat that just covers your whole palate with delicious meat. Every bite taken is not wasted as it is all held in a firm bun. The meat alone is worth it for its quality.
