Discover Fresh, Authentic Vietnamese Flavors at Crimson Hotel
In celebration of Vietnam’s Independence Day this September, Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila takes you to a gastronomic adventure featuring the diverse cuisine from the Land of the Dragon People. Come and have a Taste of Vietnam at Crimson Hotel Alabang!
A Taste of Vietnam from August 31 to September 7
Vietnamese cuisine offers a numerous combination of flavors, with cultural influences from different countries such as France, China, and India. In the Philippines, this cuisine is already gaining popularity where pho noodles and Bahn mi hit the Filipino palate. (Check out more about Banh Mi here).
Well, great news is that foodies who crave for authentic Vietnamese dishes need not look further. As the Crimson Hotel Alabang features the Taste of Vietnam in their buffet spread. The limited-time feature runs at Café Eight restaurant from August 31 to September 7, 2018.
Now in its 2nd year, the hotel welcomed back the talented chefs from Vietnam – Nguyen Thi Khanh Ngan, Tran Kim Hoang Trong, and Vo Van Chien. They have flown in to personally recreate special dishes from their home for a Taste of Vietnam.

A brilliant balance of aroma, fresh herbs, pungent flavors, sourness, and sweetness of ingredients awaits. They will not escape your palate as you feast on a nourishing buffet of Vietnamese spring rolls, pho soups, stewed snakehead, roasted duck leg, chicken curry, fried noodles and so much more.
The buffet rate per person is P1,514 net for lunch, P1,729 net for dinner, or P2,100 net for Sunday brunch. What’s even better is that Taste of Vietnam is a crossover feature. Meaning, you can enjoy all these authentic Vietnamese eats alongside the delicious buffet spread of Cafe Eight.
Appetizers: Taste of Vietnam
I personally indulged on each and every dish in the spread and everything very authentic indeed. For appetizers, I enjoyed the fresh taste of the spring rolls, dipped in the traditional peanut/satay sauce.
The cucumber salad with salted fish was also a unique mix of flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I also loved the fact that Taste of Vietnam has its own Pho pouring cart station.
The pho wasn’t as pungent as the ones I’ve tasted in Ho Chi Minh but the light yet delicious myriad of flavors brought me so much warmth and delight.
Mains: Taste of Vietnam
For mains, I enjoyed the creamy taste of the Vietnamese Chicken Curry and Stewed Scampi in Coconut Sauce.
They were both so good I couldn’t resist getting myself a plate of rice from the main buffet spread.
Desserts: Taste of Vietnam
After all that savor, sweets should come next, right? I would like to think that Vietnamese desserts are very similar to that of the Philippines’.
While I was not able to try all, I did hear alot of praises for their dessert selection. Especially with the Corn in Sweet Soup with Coconut Milk.
It looked like a cross between our local binatog and ginataang mais. And surely, it did taste like it!
Cafe Eight Buffet Spread
I was too stuffed to even go through all but the main buffet spread of Cafe 8 is also quite impressive. Aside from the Taste of Vietnam, indulge in a delicious spread of Asian, Latin, and Western food at Cafe Eight.
They have sushi, salads, pasta, breads, carvings, and a superb dessert bar that I absolutely love! So do leave some space for those, will definitely take note next time! 🙂
