If you work or live in Las Piñas and looking for a great place to relax and hang out with friends, I may have just found the right place for you.
Southside Grill is a local restaurant/pub that is becoming more well-known for their tasty crabs. As a pub, they do serve alcoholic beverages. But having these delicious meals (especially the crabs) on their menu made us visit the place.
THE LOCATION
Southside Grill is located across SM Southmall, in Manila Doctors Village Access Road, Almanza Uno, Las Piñas. The restaurant is open from 5 PM to 3 AM.
If you are planning to bring a car with you, they only have four spaces available. If you are out of luck, you can head to the nearby hotel where they have a pay parking area.
THE AMBIANCE
The color of the walls inside matches the color of the place from outside. The place practically tells you that it is a place of many activities. They use wooden tables and chairs that encourage casual dining.
They have a live band every Wednesday and Saturday. And you can enjoy an open mic every Friday.
THE FOOD AND PRICE
Southside Grill offers a wide variety of dishes in their menu. From ala cartes to platters, whether it is a table for one or many, it’s just hard to be disappointed by their dish.
On their menu, they have grilled dishes, sinigang, veggies, fried dishes, and sizzling options. An ala carte dish costs Php 50 to Php 600.
For the platters, they have an All Meat Platter, Inihaw Platter, and Seafood Platter that ranges from Php 700 to Php 1,230.
But what Southside Grill really became known for was their Unli Crabs.
Unli Crabs (Php 550 per head)
Yep, you read that right, they have unlimited crabs!
The unlimited crabs are cooked simple but it comes with two sauces, the Singaporean Chili and the all-time favorite Filipino vinegar. This is enjoyed with a bottomless iced tea. It is also served with crab meat fried rice, but for refills, you get plain rice. But if you don’t want more rice you can simply ask for a crab refill.
Before, the unli crab promo was only available every Friday and Saturday, but they’ve recently updated it due to large demand. You can enjoy their unlimited crabs on weekdays by reservation. While their weekend promo is 5:30 PM – 12 MN to start.
You can contact them through Messenger, @southsidegrillph, or through their number, 09178058008. For more information about this promo, you can also check their Facebook page.
For the beverage, they have the usual options for water, soft drinks, juice, and shakes. These ranges from Php 55 to Php 200. Their alcoholic drinks include beer, shooters, cocktails, liqueur, and hard bottles that costs Php 60 to Php 3,600.
THE FOOD THAT WE TRIED
There are a lot of food choices on their menu that we didn’t hold back from trying many dishes.
Comparing this to the other Dynamites I’ve tried over time, I actually loved its spicy kick. It is just the right amount of spice.
Once I got a taste of the shrimps, it was easy to say that it is definitely worth our money. Not only is it fresh, but it also happens to be fatty. Having the spicy and sweet taste of Singaporean Chili sauce on it created a really good dish.

Heart Attack Crab (Php 600)
This crab is not only big, but it is also really delicious that everyone wants it for himself. It did say in the menu that it is ala carte but we just can’t seem to stop ourselves from taking more than our fair share of this crab.
The Inihaw Platter includes Grilled Liempo, Chicken BBQ, Grilled Squid, and Grilled Salmon. This platter lives up to the name of the restaurant.
I enjoyed this platter a lot. It has crab, shrimp, baked tahong, and calamares on it. I must say, getting this platter on top of the Inihaw Platter is definitely a great decision from our part.
We can’t get enough of the crabs in Southside Grill that we also ordered their crablets. It is indeed crispy and tasty but I would prefer eating more of the Heart Attack Crab than this because the difference in the burst of flavors is pretty obvious.

Chicharon Bulaklak (Php 120)
Whether as a snack or a side, one must order the Chicharon Bulaklak. With all the seafood we ate, eating something crunchy aside from the crablets is always a good idea in my opinion.
-
Buttered Chicken (Whole – Php 485; Half – Php 280)
We really loved this dish. Everyone in our table agrees that it tastes good. It’s simply delicious. We ordered a whole plate which has 8 pieces of chicken, and I just can’t get enough of it.
This is ala carte in serving and it is not that different from the usual grilled talong and okra that you can eat in other restaurants.
This comfort food really helped us out in finishing the dishes in our table. Sipping the soup while alternately eating other dishes gave me a boost. It is the perfect choice if you are looking for something sour.
All those food that we ate made me full. Amongst all of these dishes, my favorites were the crabs and buttered chicken.
If I’m craving for some crabs again, this is the place that I’ll be coming back to.
