Where to Stay and Eat at Anilao Batangas: Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort
Anyone close to me knows that I am a certified water baby. I love seeing and being in all forms of water, especially the sea. I guess there’s just a certain therapeutic sensation the ocean brings to calm my mind and soothe my well-being, cliche as it may sound. In fact, I don’t think there never was or will ever be an instance that I’ll say no to a trip to the beach. And thus my quick Brunch and Daytrip to the charming Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort last weekend.
“Brunchin’ at the Beach” by Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort
What’s better than being at the beach you say? A delicious brunch buffet by the beach, of course! Weekends are made delicious at Saltitude Dive & Beach Resort because for only Php 699, diners and resort guests can enjoy a big but well-curated spread of classic favorites and modern culinary twists.
Brunchin’ at the Beach at Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort happens every Saturday, from 6am to 12.30pm at Saltitude’s Mingle restaurant. And each week, new cuisines and food menus will be featured in the brunch buffet. It was Intercontinental when we came around and it had Filipino, American, Mediterranean, and Asian flavors infused into the menu. Other ‘Brunchin’ at the Beach’ cuisines to look forward to include Spanish, Japanese, Italian, American, and Mexican.
The thing that I loved most about the brunch experience at Saltitude was the variety and quality of the food. One on hand, the choices per cuisine were many (about 4-6 each) so no issues there for picky eaters. On the other hand, I appreciate that each dish was flavored and cooked to bring delight. Not to mention the use of local ingredients and the cozy Santorini-ish decor of Mingle. All thanks to the creativity and thoughtfulness of Saltitude’s co-owner Malou Esparrago.
What We Had at Brunchin’ at the Beach
American Cuisine. Fond of all things American? Dig in to the delicious selection of breads, pancakes, hotdogs, and the all-time favorite bacon. They also have various cheeses and jams too at Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort.
Mediterranean Cuisine. Just next to American are the Mediterranean options. You will definitely go for seconds on their creamy, cheesy, meaty lasagna. While the Pasta Aglio Olio goes well with their tasty Salmon and Tomato Basil Bruschetas.
Filipino Cuisine. Next on the ‘Brunchin at the Beach’ menu are Pinoy favorites. We had the Fresh lapu-lapu in sauce, pork adobo, halaan soup, pancit canton, and the champorado with crispy dilis. I loved the pancit canton best and paired well with the puto and kutsinta served. The halaan soup had a deep gingery-spicy taste that definitely opened up my appetite. The champorado, however, was already too viscous/sticky for my liking.
Mixed Asian Cuisine. Last but not the least, were the Asian staples. The brunch at Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort had sushi rolls, steamed siomai, and Chinese fried rice.
Dessert. End your brunch at Saltitude on a sweet noted with their extra deliciou buko pandan and leche flan. I loved that the buko pandan had the right balance of ingredients and sweetness. The leche flan, on the other hand, was just pure delight. No bubbles, good consistency, and good flavor.
All in all, I thorougly enjoyed my first Brunchin’ at the Beach experience at Saltitude Resort. The delicious sorrad coupled with the Instagrammable surroundings made the trip to Animal worthwhile.

However, those who are seeking plain beach bummin’ pleasure may just swim, snorkel or chill around the huge ground gazing at the sea ordering a cocktail or reading a book. There is simply so much to do around Saltitude.
The quirkily-decorated themed rooms can’t be ignored either. The rooms are named after an activity you can do in the beach and each is decorated according to its name. Imagine staying in Dive, Snorkle, or Kayak? No boring room numbers and decors at Saltitude, that’s for sure!
I really love how much thought and heart Ms. Malou has put into all of the rooms. My favorites are the Love and Party theme rooms.
