Top 3 Reasons to Dine at Okane Charcoal Grill House
Over the holidays, a couple friends and I were randomly talking about food trends that are likely to die down and will linger on for 2020 (and beyond). One that immediately popped up were Korean Barbecues or Samgyupsals. We talked and toyed with the idea and after a few minutes, we came to a conclusion: they’re definitely here to stay. And why not right? The food is cooked fresh, the food is unlimited, and it’s honestly such a fun dining experience. A perfect fit for any sulit-food-seeking Filipino. AND… I am happy to share I recently discovered on a new Korean Restaurant in Quezon City that’s a sure-fire-hit for hungry foodies. Welcome to Okane Charcoal Grill House in Banawe Quezon City. Let’s get grilling!
Okane Charcoal Grill House: A New Korean Restaurant in Quezon City
Wide Meat Selection at Okane Charcoal Grill House (Reason 1)
With Korean Barbecue sets starting at just Php 498.00 per head, how many meat options are you expecting to get? 8,10,12,14? Try 31! Yes, you read that right! Okane Charcoal Grill House actually offers 31 different meat options for every kind of diner out there!
First of all, Okane Grill offers two (2) main sets: Php 498.00 (Chicken + Pork) and Php 598.00 (Premium: Chicken, Pork, Beef, and Seafood). Each set includes unlimited appetizers (13 items), Unlimited Soup (3 types), Unlimited Entrees (8 dishes), and Unlimited Side Dishes (12 varieties).
I have dined at many Korean Barbecues within Metro Manila in the past. And the most number of meats in the menu was probably 12-15 at the most. So having 31 meat options at Okane Charcoal Grill House is really quite impressive. It was a meat feast!!!
Delicious, Premium Quality Food at Okane Grill (Reason 2)
Now that I have reeled you in with the impending meat fest, let’s talk about the taste and quality. To be honest, the meat cuts could have been better. Maybe a little less fat on some of the pork pieces. But overall, cuts had a good thickness and cut.
And the flavor? All were super good and well-marinated. We skipped on the chicken but definitely has a feast on everything else. My personal favorites were the Beef Bulgogi (tender and savory-sweet), Wagyu Hanger Steak, Oyster Samgyupsal, Pear Okane Samgyupsal, and Gochujang Sampgyupsal. Other lighter-marinated ones were tender but their Gochujang sauce on the side was definitely a good compliment.
For main entrees, you’ll surely have your fill of yum with Okane Grill’s Spareribs Donburi and Bibimbap.
I would personally skip the sashimi for appetizer. Because the slices could have been bigger.
Therefore, go for the Octopus Takoyaki, Tempura Roll, Sushi Rolls, and Kani Tempura instead.
Well-lit, Cozy Ambiance (Reason 3)
Wide Food Selection, Check. Tasty Meats, Check. Good Restaurant Ambiance, Check. They say food is best shared with family and friends. Good thing Okane Grill House has a well-lit, cozy ambiance conducive for a fun-filled Korean Barbecue dining experience.
I loved that the tables were spacious enough for groups for 4-8 people. And each one was placed well apart from each other allowing ample privacy. Plus points for having parking in front. See you at Okane Charcoal Grill House, okay? GAJA!
