Savory Meals at Nomi Matcha & Acai
Beef Gyudon (Php 350.00) – HTD Favorite!
First on the list for must-eats at Nomi Matcha is their bestselling Gyudon. Made from thinly-sliced beef, onions, Japanese rice topped with runny sous vide egg. Too good for words, I tell you! That sweet-runny sous vide egg (marinated for 9? hours) on top stitched everything perfectly together! I will definitely come back for that.
Chicken Yum Yum Karaage (Php 190.00)
We also had Nomi Matcha’s highly-addictive Chicken Yum Yum Karaage. It was a good balance of salty and savory flavors as it’s served with a side of freshly seasoned cabbage, lemon, kewpie, and shichmi rock salt.
Chicken Power Bowl (Php 290.00)
Lastly, we also had Nomi’s Chicken Power Bowl. I can totally see health buffs obsessing with this dish. This one’s a healthier entree of roasted chicken with pesto, soft-boiled egg, grilled tomato, roasted carrots, and toasted cashews.
Quick Trivia: Did you know that Matcha has been consumed in Japan since the 7th century? It’s famous for providing drinkers with a calming sort of energy.
Nomi Matcha’s Matcha Drinks and Desserts
The moment of truth: Matcha drinks and desserts! We know trying to go up against Japanese standards can be quite a feat. Matcha itself is an acquired taste (because of its natural bitterness). I love tea but I find matcha very strong for my own liking. So coming up with food made from it is a bold move.
And Nomi Matcha and Acai certainly disappoint.Their desserts were on point and we were quite happy downing down their drinks. So hats off to you Chef Leo Lopez and Chef Emman Galdo! Here are some of our top picks.
Matcha Frosty (PHP 170.00)
As the name suggests, it’s a bold attempt at a matcha-infused milkshake. Which I loved since I love my drink creamy and the blend of matcha was not overpowering.
Iced Matcha Latte (PHP 160.00)
Nomi’s Iced Matcha Latte on the other hand is a stronger and less-milky blend of their frosty. It’s the perfect alternative for your morning caffeine.
Iced Simply Matcha (PHP 120.00)
Basically matcha on the rocks, this drink is bold and strong. I can recommend this for those who like their caffeine power-packed, sans the milk and sugar.
Matcha Mix Platter (PHP 470.00)
Ahhh, it’s a matcha-made in heaven! Typical us saving the best for last, this platter of matcha-infused desserts was so good! It’s basically a sampler of their signature desserts to help you get acquainted to matcha. And acquainted, we were!
Indulge on the “Legendary Greenies”, “Matcha Churros”, “Tea-ramisu Dream”, and “Chewy Green Monster”. My personal favorites were the legendary greenies which was basically a moist matcha-flavored brownie and the to-die-for Tea-ramisu Dream. To be fair, it took some time for us to get to desserts but I think both the churros and cookie monsters are best consumed warm! 🙂
