Pampanga is famous for being the culinary capital of the Philippines, and since many of us, and that includes me, it appropriate to visit the place for hearty meals. However, when I went to Clark Pampanga to visit my friend, Rachele, I craved for a Korean dish. And since Rachele is based on that area, she recommended that we satisfy our craving to Yami Bulgogi at SM Clark.
While I didn’t expect too much, having been to several Korean restaurants in Manila and Korea, I was surprised how Yami Bulgogi was authentically Korean. Read on as I share with you our Korean food adventure at Clark SM Pampanga.
Yami Bulgogi Location
The restaurant is conveniently located on the ground floor, New Wing of SM City Clark, at Angeles City, Pampanga. The place is spacious, modern, and with a contemporary ambiance. Yami Bulgogi also happens to be a child-friendly restaurant by having a place for kids to play and enjoy while waiting for the food to be served. Your kids will surely not be bored while inside the restaurant.
How Yami Bulgogi Exceeded My Expectations
Along with Rachelle and 3 of our friends, namely Rich, Ruben, and Claire, I went to Yami Bulgogi restaurant, and we were immediately greeted by the distinct aroma of Korean food, and I know that enticing smell spells delicious. We were also greeted by the friendliest staff as they assist us in our table.
Other than the alluring smell of Korean food being served, the ambiance is warm, and we felt comfortable and at home right away. We were given the menu and we were amazed by the plethora of choices the restaurant has to offer. Mainly, Yami Bulgogi offers lots of choices such as shabu-shabu, Korean stew hot pots, the ever famous Samgyeopsal, and they even have Bingsu, Korea’s rejuvenating summer refresher.
Their menu of authentic Korean foods will take you to Seoul and Incheon City, and nothing could be real than that. Since Claire is a bona fide vegetarian, we agreed to order something that can be enjoyed by everyone, Yami Shabu-shabu. Their Shabu-shabu came in two broths, spicy and original, which was served in the divided hot pot for an option of either or a single broth or a mixture.
And for the rest of the gang, we ordered Samgyeopsal to satisfy our barbecue cravings. The beef and pork barbecue set were served and our great Samgyeopsal party began. It was also served with several authentic side dishes to pair with our barbecue and I assure you, it’s more than just kimchi.
And with that, we began grilling and the smell of freshness and distinct Korean barbecue filled our tablespace. Activities like this also give me the opportunity to bond with my friends as the foods are not only shared but also several waves of laughter in between. Not only that we enjoy the quality of meat we grill, but Yami Bulgogi also gave made our stay more satisfying.
Other than Samgyupsal, more delightful Korean food sets are also on their menus such as LA Short ribs, and Woosamgyupsal also with sausages, bacon strips, and unlimited side dishes served with 4 cups of steamed rice and a pitcher of iced tea.
Definitely, a must also for next time, Yami Bulgogi’s staff also recommends to try their Buddae jjigae, or aptly called “army stew,” which is a comfort meal in Korea consists of ingredients such as Spam, sausages, spam, and noodles and cooked in special broth with kimchi. This is more flavorful and a good variation of the regular Ramyun that I usually have.
For the best gastronomic experience, they recommend Osam bulgogi and Dolsot Bibimbap as one of their best sellers as well. If we can have everything on that day, we would order all that’s on their menu! But then again, it also gave us another reason to come back.
Yumi Bulgogi is no place for diet
This Korean restaurant serves authentic and delicious food so good that all those on a diet should call it a cheat day, otherwise, avoid the place because you will regret not forgetting your regimen even just for a moment. But kidding aside, that’s how tasty their meals are, and the price is just right and definitely worth it,
So the next that you’re in Clark Pampanga and you fancy for authentic Korean food, visit Yami Bulgogi Korean BBQ Restaurant. Bring your kids as well, they also have a kiddie menu which ranges from sandwiches, and burgers to pasta dishes.
