New Restaurant Alert: First MOS Burger Philippines Store To Open Soon!
Ever had burger so uniquely good, you just had to blurt out, “#GimmeMOS?” Well, I think, I just did. Hailing from the Land of the Rising Sun, comes another delicious sensation for Filipino foodies to look forward to. Say hello to MOS Burger Philippines! We had first dibs at the 2-day popup of their first Philippines store at MOS Burger Robinsons Galleria. Here’s a quick 411 on Japan’s famous burgers. Let’s get chomping!
Our First MOS Burger PH Experience
Before I further excite you with the MOS Burger Philippines expansion news, let’s get to the best part first — EATING! I’ll be honest, I have been to Japan twice but have not been to taste MOS Burger there yet. So I didn’t know what to expect taste, price, and quality wise. So how exactly did my first MOS Burger Philippines experience go? Excellent! Here’s why.
Bestsellers at MOS Burger Philippines
As mentioned earlier, Japan’s MOS Burger will open its first Philippine store in Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas. And what better way to salivate the Filipino palate than opening a 2-day popup store in its first branch last January 15-16, 2020. The result? A delicious, meaty mayhem at MOS! Luckily, I was one of the first invited to sample Japan’s most famous burgers.
I was number 12 in line for the MOS Burger Philippines Pop-Up Store. And we were all given their two (2) bestsellers each: The MOS Cheese Burger and the Yakiniku Rice Burger. Right off the bat, I felt the excitement when I got my takeout bag because it was HEAVY! It felt like a full kilo for 2 burgers. And I was not disappointed at all.
Aesthetic wise, both burgers looked very similar to what’s in the photo. Meat looked well cooked and “sikisik” with ingredients. Taste wise, both burgers held up to the description.
The MOS Cheese Burger
First on my tasting list that day was the MOS Cheese Burger. The burger patty itself had a distinct taste that I honestly couldn’t tell. All I knew was that it was packed, thick, juicy, and married well with the fresh tomatoes, cheese, and MOS’ secret red sauce. It was only later that I found out that the patty was actually a mixture of beef and pork.
The Yakiniku Rice Burger
Remember the Rice Burger people went ‘gaga’ for in the early 2000s? Well, I think this one is a fraternal twin. Only… 2x yummier! Because instead of using a burger patty, the version by MOS Burger Philippines is packed with loads of tasty Yakiniku Beef Slices. Thin beef slices, marinated in a sweet-savory sauce, with lettuce on top. Perfect ‘rice meal’ on the go!
Japan’s MOS Burger on Aggressive Expansion Plan in PH
MOS Burger is slated to open several stores in the Philippines. And the first one will open at the second level of Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas this February.
“Our first branch here in Robinsons Galleria will be followed by the opening of other branches in the major malls and commercial districts in Metro Manila. We thank the Robinsons Galleria Management for being the first establishment to welcome MOS Burger in the Philippines. Also, we have other branches opening soon in other Robinsons Malls. We are happy to be a part of the dining scene here in the Philippines,” said Masahide Araki, president of MOS Burger PH, during the brand’s launch.
MOS Burger Philippines was formed in 2019 to oversee the local operations of MOS Burger. As well as the soon-to-be-launched MOS Café. The company is a joint venture agreement between MOS Food Services Inc. of Japan and Tokyo Coffee Holdings of entrepreneur Hubert Young.
More MOS Burger PH Store Opening in 2020
MOS Burger’s aggressive expansion plan in the Philippines will see the opening of several restaurants in Metro Manila this year alone. MOS Burger stores will also open in SM Megamall, Robinsons Magnolia, O Square Greenhills, and Robinsons Place Manila.
“We have heard that Filipinos are big burger lovers, and we are offering only the best for you,” said Araki, who attended the branch launch along with MOS Burger Philippines vice president Tateishi Hiroshi and Young.
“Mr. Young has told us that he had long wanted to bring MOS Burger to Manila since he first tasted our burgers back in Japan in the 1990s,” Araki added.
MOS Burger has captured the taste of customers worldwide. Because of its hamburger and other food items that are made with the best-quality ingredients. Among the must-try selections on its menu are its signature MOS Cheese Burger (Php 149.00) and Yakiniku Rice Burger (Php 169.00). See you at the nearest MOS Burger Philippines store soon!
