I love Chinese Food – its color, aroma, appearance, and taste. Aside from being cooked fresh and hot, I love how Chinese cuisine has an endless array of dishes, combinations, and variations. From meat options, veggies, dumplings, to noodles, there’s definitely a little something every foodie can enjoy. And this is exactly why I thoroughly enjoyed in my visit to Golden Estero Makati a few weeks back, courtesy of What to Eat PH.
Golden Estero’s Easy, Chill Vibe
Located at the mezzanine level in the hip Arkipelago (A witty play on the words Art, Eat, Play, and Go) Lifestyle Center, Golden Estero is your new go-to Chinese Food spot in the heart of the Makati CBD. With an extensive menu of Chinese food choices served dampa-style at very affordable price points, I guarantee total food coma at the end of each visit!
It was actually my first time to visit Arkipelago and immediately as I got down from the car, I got impressed by how massive the whole complex was. Arkipelago is an artsy lifestyle spot where people can get good eats, score lifestyle knick-knacks and just hangout. Upstairs, Golden Estero offers a breezy, no-frills, chill vibe similar to the open dampa-style kitchens found along Macapagal or Binondo.
Best Chinese Eats from Golden Estero
As with any Chinese feast, we were treated like emperors and kings with a delectable 9-course meal. I’m a sucker for anything seafood so obviously those were my favorites. But in general, everything was as tasty and well-thought of (some even very reminiscent of our old Binondo staples).
HK STYLE FRIED CHICKEN
MINCED PORK WITH BOILED EGG
A rice topping at just Php 160 per order, this savory meal is definitely a bang for your buck! Extra cup of rice please!
SEAFOOD WITH BEANCURD HOTPOT
SALTED EGG CRABS
CAMARON REBUSADOUsually, I’m a bigger fan of shrimps than crabs but this did not take the cake this time around. It was good but I felt the sauce they served was a mismatched for the dish. Php 320.00 for 12 pieces.
TAIWANESE PORK CHOPS
Weekend grub! Crispy Taiwanese-style Pork Chops from @goldenestero at @arkipelagoph #foodpark. How’s the weekend treating ya? ❤ . . . . #whattoeatph #eatph #discovermnl #BookyApp #f52grams #instagood #streetfood #taiwaneats #foodph #yummy #forkspoonmanila #foodie #thefoodiestation #foodstagram #manilaeatup #loolooapp #vscoeats #zomatoPH #huffposttaste #foodbeast #taste #wimyummy #wheninmanila #theKTG #discovermnl #wheretoeatph #foodphotography #igersmanila
Had the chicken variant of this one in our Taiwan nightmarket tour but this crispy pork variant was also a clear winner. Crunchy with just the right amount of seasoning for that good comforting bite (Php 200 per order).
PORK LEG BIHON
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take a shot of the 2 kinds of vegetables with abalone sauce (got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of food). But I sure was craving for some sweet dessert!
Honestly, I initially thought their Buchi won’t be delicious since they looked too puffy/bready. But I was totally wrong. Best served hot, the bun was soft and you can easily taste the sweet tasty filling sinking into your teeth to enjoy. Definitely a sweet ending to a savory meal! ANG SARAP at just Php 150 for 5 pieces!
Overall, my dining experience at Golden Estero was pleasant and will definitely be back with my family and friends in tow. Been there? Comment down your favorites!
