Where to Eat in Tomas Morato QC: Geonbae Modern Korean Bar & Grill
Next on our Zomato Tomas Morato Food Crawl took us to Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant (Geonbae Modern Korean Bar & Grill). I’m not going to lie. After chowing down on my favorite sushi rolls in Soru Izakaya, I thought I couldn’t eat anymore. I was so wrong. Because the ambiance, food selection, and grilled aroma at Geonbae was just too good not to give in! Check out these top 3 reasons why you should choose Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant on your next #Samgyup party.
Wide Samgyupsal Meat Selection (Reason 1)
Weirdly enough, I’m a simple girl with simple taste. I normally would be okay with 4-5 good meat options when I do Samgyupsal/Korean BBQ. But of course, a wide flavor variety is always come (and appreciated). And Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant certainly does not disappoint in this aspect.
Diners are given 18 tasty BBQ Meat Selections, from pork, beef, to chicken. All were perfectly sliced (not too thin, not too thick), seasoned just right, and had a good meat-fat ration. On top of the list are my personal favorites: The Gochujang Samgyeopsal, Oyster Woo Samgyup, Gochujang Woo Samgyup, Beef Bulgogi, and Hanger Steak.
You can also choose from other tasty meats like the Smoked Pork Belly, Spicy Yakiniku Pork Ribs/Moksal, Pork Bulgogi, Sausage, Woo Samgyup, and Assorted Odeng (Fish Cake).
Tasty Appetizers, Sides and Main Dishes (Reason 2)
Another thing I absolutely loved about Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant are the tasty sides and main dishes. Grilled meat will always be the star, of course. But I loved how Geonbae included many Korean favorites to further enhance the dining experience.
For appetizers, I took most delight from the Tteokbokki, Chamchi (Kimchi Stew), Japchae, and Kimchi Takoyaki.
For mains, your best bets would have to be the tender Galbi Jim, Ramyeon Noodles, Bibimbap, Saewoo Twigim (Shrimp Tempura), and Korean Wings.
Then chow on Geonbae’s side dishes like fish cake, steamed egg, kimchi, and Myulchi Bokkeum (anchovies). They also have three kinds of soup: Kimchi Jigae, Doenjang Jigae, Galbitang.
Innovative, Hassle-Free Ordering System (Reason 3)
I love eating Korean BBQ. But sometimes, it’s become tiresome to do refills and extra orders. Good thing Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant has adopted an innovative and hassle-free ordering system for its customer.
All you need to do is connect to their local network, run their QR code, and order away from their virtual menu. No need to raise your hand (or even stand up!) just to place an order with a waiter. A modern convenience for the best grilling experience! Don’t worry, the staff will guide you through the system beforehand. 🙂
Price and Location of Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaraunt
So the million dollar question is… how much does it cost to eat at Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaraunt? The short answer: Php 649.00. A little pricey compared to your usual K-BBQ fare. But definitely worth it for the quality, taste, and inclusions of what you eat at Geonbae!
Pro-tip: Just make sure you don’t have any left overs. Because it can set you back an additional Php 649.00 per person.
Geonbae Korean BBQ Restaurant is located at 115 Scout Delgado Street, Sacred Heart, Quezon City. With branches at UP Town Center and Marikina Heights.
