It’s always fun to find hidden spots to chill around the Metro plus have yummy food at the same time, so I was pleased to discover Encima Roofdeck Restaurant. “Encima” is Spanish for “Above” or “On Top,” which is literally where the restaurant is located. The place is a Texan-Mexican restaurant and bar located on the very top floor of City Garden Hotel Makati.
Atmosphere
Being on the topmost level of the building, Encima Roofdeck Restaurant created a space attuned to Makati’s modern and vibrant nightlife. Diners get a chance to eat beside the hotel pool area or in the roof deck area. All the while, getting a fantastic view overlooking the Makati skyline. It’s the perfect venue to unwind after a busy day in the city. And with the -Ber months upon us, the weather was really cool and breezy, making it a comfortable place to hang out at night.
Service
We also noticed that the staff was extra accommodating and friendly to us. You’ll feel right at home with their smiles and attention to their guests’ inquiries. They themselves recommended our dish, which we welcomed and definitely did not regret. They know all the best dishes available at Encima Roofdeck Restaurant, so you can rest assured that you’re going to get good recommendations during your visit.
Food
For our food, we had the Currasco Platter. Each platter was already good for 2 persons. It’s a special promo Encima Roofdeck Restaurant has that runs from October 1, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
There are 3 kinds of Churrasco Platters to choose from: Chicken Churrasco, ( Php 899), Ribs Churrasco (Php 999) and Salmon Churrasco ( Php 1599). All 3 platters come with their own dips and salsa, 2 pieces of tacos, and 2 pieces of tamales. Needless to say, we had to have all three!
I liked the Ribs Churrasco Platter the most, closely followed by the Salmon Churrasco. The ribs were juicy and tender, you can really taste the smoky flavor throughout the meat. For the salmon, it was well-seasoned and retained its moistness even after being grilled.
My friend, Alex, also enjoyed most of the tamale that came with the platters. Tamales are a steamed Mexican snack made of masa or corn dough with a savory filling. It comes wrapped in a cornhusk, which you unwrap for your eating pleasure. The tamales were a perfect Tex-Mex addition to the savory dishes in the platter.
Value for Money
Each of the platters just cost us P999.00. For a platter intended for 2 people, and considering the contents of the platters, it was already a good deal for us. You’ll already get a generous chunk of meat, plus 2 tacos and 2 tamales. I think it’s awesome that the promo runs close to the Christmas season too. It’s the perfect choice for friends who want a platter with a variety of dishes to choose from. It’s really meant for sharing and the enjoyment of more than one already, all without the hassle of ordering a lot of solo orders. And aside from getting a lot of food, the food itself tasted very delicious. You’ll really be sure to get your money’s worth here.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Makati above the hustle and bustle of the streets. It’s a place to chill and relax with friends for anybody seeking a good restaurant. You’ll get a fun al fresco dining experience all within the convenient reach of the city.
I highly recommend trying out the Churrasco Platters at Encima Roofdeck Restaurant. Remember, their promo runs until January 5, 2020 only.
They’re open from 4PM-12MN daily. They accept walk-ins, but you can also make reservations just to be sure you get a table.
