As the community and popularity grows in Poblacion, Makati, there is a restaurant in the area blossoming and offering an exceptional yet an affordable Japanese cuisine, the Ebi 10. They are located at Tambai Alley, once you reach Tambai at poblacion there is a tight alleyway, pass there and you will see Ebi 10.
This restaurant adds excitement and enthusiasm to the neighborhood of Poblacion and might the key to satisfy your Japanese food cravings. So to experience the talk of the town, I met up with my two friends here before and since the place is a bit small, it was kind of hectic but we still managed to get a seat. And for this time, my friends and I went early and we managed to get a good place. We were a group of six, therefore we were able to try a lot
We ordered the following:
The latest, Rocky Mountain (Php 360)
I suggest you should try this out, for it is fresh and tasty!
Salmon Sashimi (Php 320)
this is a staple order for me but Ebi 10 serves it fresh and the portions are big — the price is also comparable to other restaurants of it’s caliber.
Another must try for everyone who wants to try Japanese experience and this plentiful bowl of Uni Sashimi (Php 390)
Small Shrimp Tempura (Php 60 /piece) and Jumbo Shrimp Tempura (Php 155 /piece)
For the tempura they will let you order for piece. And when then say jumbo, it is indeed large. My friend Mary and I divided this jumbo shrimp tempura and it was still a good portion.
Stuffed Mushroom (Php 70 /pc)
This was my favorite among the rest. It was kind of mouthwatering since it was very juicy and appetizing.
Uni Shiso Nori (Php 195 /piece)
An Uni wrapped in a crispy nori sheets covered in tempura breading and deep-fried as well. For this one, as for me, I’d honestly say that I am not fond of the Uni Tempura. It just didn’t sit well with me. It was a bit off for me.
Scallop Popcorn Tempura (Php 140 /10pcs)
It’s a scallop without a shell wrapped in a thin breading and deep-fried.I also liked this a lot. It was a bit spicy and it really tangs so well, I will definitely order this again when I come back!
Bird’s Nest with Egg (P120 /piece)
This was really an interesting concept. The soup is rich and savory, for egg lovers, they will surely like this. It was indeed a spot on! Nevertheless, everyone must try their signature soup.
Tori Chahan Rice (Php 200)
is a full of flavorful umami gracious! I guess being Filipino, this is a must order with our meal.
And we ordered as well the famous Senju Roll (P395)! Which is very delicate and gracefully made!
Dessert
And for the finale, we had a plate of Banana Nutella Bites (Php 135) a sweet-smelling sum up our dinner at Ebi 10. Even the nutella is so sweet it compliments with the crunchy banana that makes each our bite even tastier and delightful!
The food at Ebi 10 is really good if you are craving for Japanese. It’s not good for long staying guests though as I mentioned earlier that the place is quite small. Though the place is very small yet it gives a huge satisfaction in our tummies! Ebi 10’s bowls and plates of fresh and flavorful dishes were a great hook!
