By now, we’ve all probably heard the famous slogan, “Malaysia, Truly Asia”. But what is it about Malaysia that makes it “Truly Asia”? Well for starters, no other country has Asia’s three major races: Malay, Chinese, and Indian. As such, Malaysia is a true melting pot of all the colors, flavors, sounds, and sights. Lucky for us Filipinos, we will get the chance to have a Taste of Malaysia from March 11 to March 18, 2018, through the Malaysia Promotion Programme (MPP) in Manila – starting with Citarasa Malaysia.

A Taste of Malaysia with Citarasa Malaysia
To kick off the festivities, the Malaysia Trade Office (MATRADE) is opening MPP with a three-day F&B Festival entitled “Citarasa Malaysia” (translated to “Taste of Malaysia”). This public event will take place at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center from March 11 to 13, 2018. Citarasa Malaysia Manila aims to promote Malaysia’s culinary delights to Filipinos by showcasing a total of 25 Malaysia F&B companies to serve all the best food, snacks, and beverages local to Malaysia. And delighted I was!
The Best of Malaysian Food & Beverage
What I liked about the event is that it showcased a curated list of Malaysian F&B companies that offered new, fresh, and innovative flavors for foodies like me to enjoy. From savory sauces for cooking, sweet treats, gender-specific coffee, to nutrient-rich drinks; business merchants and food enthusiasts will get first dibs on all the latest food trends to try from Malaysia.
I personally loved the Granola from Dasto, sweet biscuits and treats PMN Biscuits (Roona and Moore) and the delicious Mixed Fruit Drink from Merits Ville (that also happens to be high in antioxidants, yay!).
And to fully satisfy our salivating taste buds, Citara Malaysia is also offering a tantalizing series of traditional Malaysian dishes. This includes the Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice, Roti Cani, Assam Laksa, a range of curries and more. We got to taste the food from Papparam Malaysia Kitchen and I’m seriously looking forward to visit them in Marikina soon! Savory, spicy, and definitely crave-worthy!
Citarasa Malaysia’s Multi-Cultural Display
We were also treated to a marvelous display of talent and colors with Citarasa Malaysia’s cultural dance. I thoroughly enjoyed how rich Malaysian culture can be as seen in the performers’ intricate costumes and movements.
From a diversity of cultures and traditions to a myriad of delectable eats and cuisines, infused with a variety of foreign influences, it seems that indeed no other country is as “Truly Asia” as Malaysia.
