Manila Events: Chivas Regal Celebrates the Passion and Craftsmanship Behind Its Award-Winning Whisky Blends
In celebration of shared success and the brand’s continued pursuit of excellence, Chivas Regal welcomed custodian Master Blender Colin Scott and Chivas Regal Blender Kevin Balmforth to the Philippines.

Excellence, Consistency, Quality
To help highlight the craftsmanship and passion that goes into making whisky, Chivas flew in members of its blending team for a series of events from July 3 to July 6, 2018.

Revered for its history and traditions, whisky is celebrated mostly for the craftsmanship with which it was made and the flavors that bring memorable experiences to life. Beyond its esteemed qualities, the culture of whisky today is rich, diverse, and anchored on savoring moments of shared success.
Shared Success with Chivas Regal 12
Last July 4, 2018, the speakeasy event highlighted the Chivas Regal 12. It was born in the oldest operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands and matured for 12 years. The blend features rich and generous honey and green apple notes, and a long creamy finish. It’s a superb blend fitting for regular and new whisky drinkers regularly lauded by critics.
“…it’s the perfect whisky to symbolize our belief in the power of shared success. A versatile and approachable blend that can be enjoyed in a number of ways, the Chivas Regal 12 allows you to share and toast to your success with those around you,” adds Colin Scott, Custodian Master Blender.
We were also privileged enough to try the Chivas Regal 18 as well as Chivas Regal Extra. 18 had a smoother, more refined texture (chocolate-y) while the Extra had a sweeter note to it.
Chivas Trivia: You can taste up to 85 distinct flavors in every drop of their whiskey. Mind-blowing, right? Well, all we know is it’s good, smooth, and worthy of every drop!
Along with Scott and Balmforth, the event was also graced by local master mixologist Enzo Lim. (Who by the way, wowed us with his Samal Beach Cocktail last month). For Chivas, Lim concocted Chivas whisky-based cocktails infused with local Filipino ingredients. These included ordinary tropical citrus favorites like the calamansi, dalandan, suha (pomelo), pineapple, and even ginger. The ending blends were smooth, sweet, and exciting altogether.
