For someone who enjoys spicy food, the best way to make something taste better is to add even more spice. And that is just exactly what I experienced with Kenny Rogers Roasters. So Last February 13, Tina and I went to Kenny Rogers Roasters to try the newest addition they had to the Chipotle Fire Chicken: The Chipotle Fire Challenge.
Their tagline “Hot just got hotter at Kenny Rogers Roasters!” is very true because of their release of the newest #EffinHotGravy that goes with their Chipotle Fire Chicken.
When we got seated, we were first handed two decks of card (one for the Effin Hot Gravy and the other for Froyo) and we had to pick one card from each deck. The challenge was we needed to dip the Chipotle Fire Chicken into the Effin Hot Gravy for Xx number of times and neutralize the hot flavor with Xx of Froyo spoonfuls, according to the numbers shown in the cards we drew.
Just by seeing the levels, I already got excited. Although knowing I was going to be faced with a challenge but hey, I’m always up for one!
As for my cards, I got 3 and 4 meaning I first had to dip my Chipotle Fire Chicken three times in the Effin Hot Gravy before I could have 4 spoonfuls of my froyo. I knew that despite my spice tolerance being really high that I might need something to balance off the heat. And something sweet after a meal would never be a wrong choice.
So once our order came, I was excited. And in only a couple of minutes, I didn’t even realize that I had already used up all my gravy, I even poured it all over my rice and asked for more. Not even Tina’s gravy could escape my craving for it. I’ve said it before my level of spice is high so it came as no surprise that I absolutely loved this gravy.
When Kenny’s said that they took the heat and the spice of the gravy and cranked it up a notch, they sure did! If you are a spice lover, you’d love this “Effin’ Hot Gravy” because the spice is different but the delicious Kenny’s gravy that we all know and love still has the same flavor. And the combination of the Chipotle Fire Chicken and the gravy is just too good to resist.
As for Tina, who isn’t much of a spicy freak like I am but has slowly learned to like it too — she found the gravy pretty good. She said that it has just the right amount of spice to feel the kick and zing but still good enough for you to actually enjoy the food.
Plus the Froyo really did work as a neutralizer for the spice. So if you are having second guesses to try the Chipotle Fire Challenge, try it with the Froyo just so that you’d be less worried of how to handle the spice later on.
Although, it is good to take note that when you order this secret sauce hot gravy, it doesn’t automatically mean that it would come with the Chipotle Fire Chicken; you’d have to tell them that you want it to.
And as for the Froyo, they have a promo until March 15 where you can get a Froyo by just adding P25 when you order it with the Chipotle Fire Chicken. So, are you up for the Chipotle Fire Challenge?
