Karla and I both love to travel. The places to see, the things to do, the people to meet, and the food to eat. Being travel and food bloggers ourselves, we are just marveled at how diverse the flavors and textures food can have from one culture to culture, and from one place to another. Following our review of Empacho, allow us to introduce another restaurant in the Tomas Morato/Timog Area that’s a must to dine at: Blackport Cafe.

Blackport Cafe’s Location and Travel-Themed Look
Located at 51 Scout Rallos, Quezon City, Blackport Cafe is the newest travel-themed dining destination in the north. Owned by travel bloggers Kirk Acebron (@kirkacebron) and Atty. Mark Julius Estur (@lakwatserongtsinelas), go on a culinary journey at Blackport Cafe inspired by their travels and journeys, around the Philippines and around the world. Blackport Cafe’s menu items feature spices and sauces influenced by these travels, with their specialty pasta, burger, and pizza all served in black.
Looking around the small yet cozy space, feel free to look around and touch all the unique and vibrant travel-inspired decor around – a good volume travel guide books, intricate souvenir masks, die-cast landmark memorabilias. For sure, you can pick up a few ideas and pointers for your next vacation.
Once You Go Black, You’ll Never Go Back
Food-wise, that is. And we’re talking about Blackport Cafe’s top 3 bestsellers: The Four Cheese Pizza, The Blackport Carbonara, and Black Bun Burgers (Indian Burger/Pinoy Burger).
Four Cheese Pizza (Php 399.00)
If you love cheese, you’re in for a treat with Blackport Cafe’s own version of the classic Italian Quattro Formaggi. This 12 inch thin-crust black pie generously topped with mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar and bleu cheese is definitely what cheese dreams are made of! The thinness of the pie accented by the unique taste of the black dough makes the salty/creamy cheese relish really come out. Highly recommended! (No kidding. I was thinking about it for a full week!)
Blackport Carbonara (Php 249.00)
We love pasta with our pizza. So what better way to enjoy Blackport’s Four Cheese Pizza than to have their creamy Blackport Carbonara. Dipped in squid ink, enjoy their homemade pasta which swims in a thick and tasty pool of good carbonara sauce, topped with extra crispy bacon bits. Best eaten while still warm!
Indian Burger and Pinoy Burger (Both at Php 269.00 each)
I had my first taste of black (burger) with Buns N’ Bros’ beer-infused burger buns. And it was love at first bite. 🙂 Soft, tasty and really flavorful! And I can say the same with Blackport’s Indian Burger and Pinoy Burger. I forgot what’s exactly in their brioche buns that makes them black but one thing’s for sure: they’re both must-try’s.
On one hand, you’ve got the Indian Burger that’s packed with a more pungent/spicy taste as the inch-thick beef patty is topped with a generous amount of curried caramelized onions, then accented with standard burger toppers like your lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mayo. And on the other hand, Blackport’s Pinoy Burger is a good option for those craving for some distinctly Pinoy flavor. Same ingredients, except this local counterpart features a sweet medley of ground beef and longanisa, topped with some atsara. Both burgers come with a serving of thinly sliced crispy potato chips with aioli dip on the side.
Other Blackport Cafe Crowd Favorites
Mexican Nachos (Php 209.00)
Everybody loves Nachos! Now try to make it more festive and thrown in a myriad of vibrant colors to those chips and you’ve got Blackport Cafe’s Mexican Nachos. While brainstorming on your next #travelgoals, enjoy a generous serving of chips topped with juicy chili con carne, tasty ground beef, pico de gallos and their homemade cheese sauce.
Crispy Pork Liempo (Php 195.00)
Give in to your cravings and sample next Blackport’s Crispy Pork Liempo. I loved how tender the meat still was eventhough it was fried to a delicious crisp! I just wished the vinegar would have been more or a sweet, garlicky version I always have. H
Classic Buffalo Chicken Wings and Korean Gochujang Chicken Wings (PHP 259.00 each)
Chicken fans, rejoice! Blackport Cafe has 2 delicious options for you to enjoy. You can either enjoy the classic with ranch dressing or opt for the sweet/spicy version with the Gochujang Wings (which I enjoyed best tbh!). Best paired with a bottle of below-zero beer or their own unique cocktail drinks.
Biryani Rice (Php 149.00)
Can’t get enough of the pungent-curry taste of that Indian Burger you just had? Go for Blackport’s Biryani Rice. Theirs comes with tasty marinated chicken then topped off with coriander, tomato slices, andcaramelized onions.
Sicilian Polpette (Php 229.00)
Now if you’re not a fan of creamy pastas, one dish in Blackport worth mentioning is their Sicilian Polpette. Thick-sauced and meaty, it’s their own version of the classic Spaghetti with Meatballs.
Margherita Pizza (349.00)
Just like their Four Cheese version, enjoy Blackport’s Margherita Pizza on their special black yeast dough. A good serving of 8 slices, this pie’s got the classic New-York style with its pomodor sauce, topped with a generous amount of mozzarella, fresh basil, and tomatoes.
So the next time you’re craving for some good ol’ comfort food with a twist of new and unique flavors, or even for some fun travel inspiration, come to Blackport Cafe. You’re welcome!
