NEW PRODUCT ALERT: Bay of Gold Premium Tuna
Whenever I think of doing a quick detox, I have a list of my healthy food staples. This includes greens, legiums, berries, lemon, chicken breast, and my favorite – TUNA. In the Philippines, however, premium quality canned tuna is hard to come by. And we often have to resort to buying expensive imported canned tuna products. A Tuna Party at Rustic Mornings by Isabelo
To celebrate its launch, an intimate lunch gathering was held for friends and media partners. It was held at the famed Rustic Mornings by Isabelo.
I’ve been to Rustic Mornings a few times in the past and I’ve always enjoyed their all-day breakfast menu. This time around, renowned Chef Portia Baluyut prepared something extra-TUNA-dary for everyone that day.
Featuring Bay of Gold Select Tuna variants, Chef Portia got us all excited! For lunch, she made 5 easy and elevated recipes that showcased the high quality and richness of the cuts of tuna in every can of Bay of Gold Tuna. “Bay of Gold Select Tuna’s products are flavourful and unique. I am happy to have developed these recipes for them. Food that discerning Filipino diners can enjoy in the convenience of their home.”
First stop, Hors D’Oeuvres. We were served 5 different canapes using the 5 variants of Bay of Gold Tuna:
- Tuna Big Flakes in Oil with Chili with camembert cheese and lemon peel.
- Tuna Flakes in Shoyu with onion, sesame seeds, and spinach. This was our personal favorite as it packed a great flavor to it, a very asian savor.
- Manuka Smoked Tuna Solid in Olive Oil with cucumber and caviar. Loved the refreshing taste of the cucumber and pop of the caviar!
- Manuka Smoked Ventresca with dill and cream cheese. Very posh!
- Ventresca in Olive Oil with blueberry preserves with mint. Who knew blueberries and tuna can actually go together, right?
After which, the floor was opened for the buffet tuna party:
Creamy Laksa Noodle Soup – HTD Favorite!
Karla and I love a good bowl of soup so this was a perfect start! It was rich, creamy, and very seafood tasty. I personally got a second bowl!
DIY Open Faced Toast
We also got to make our own DIY toast. We had the option to pick whichever tuna variant and toppings. I wanted to keep it light and fresh. So I went with arugula and cucumber with a side of dressing.
Creamy Tuna and Spinach Pasta – HTD Favorite!
This dish was to love! A savory way to enjoy the tuna chunks from Bay of Gold.
If you’re going all out healthy, root for this dish! Light yet packed with lots of flavor and nutrients.
We were all served bowls of homemade watermelon sherbet for dessert. Something I really enjoyed because of its sweet and refreshing taste! Finally ended my meal with a warm cup of coffee.
